Howe Sound

The three islands that make up the Howe Sound Islands; Keats, Gambier and Bowen.

Keats Island
Keats Island is nestled between Gambier Island, Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast town of Gibsons. The smallest of the big three Howe Sound Islands, Keats is still very much one of the area's best-kept secrets. The residents and weekenders who love Keats are happy for it to stay this way! Buyers attracted to Keats are looking for seclusion and a true natural retreat in one of the most friendly, pristine and protected ecosystems in the world. Of course the island is fully serviced by water, hydro and phone, and cities or towns are never more than a half-hour away.

Gambier Island
Gambier Island sits in the quiet waters of Howe Sound just north of Bowen Island. Although close enough to be easily seen from Horseshoe Bay, a mere 1/2 hour boat ride away. There is one small general store that sells staple goods and meals and is located at the New Brighton ferry landing in Thornbrough Bay. Gambier Island itself is a great place to explore as it is mostly unpopulated and there are many secluded bays. Although close to the city, Gambier Island is worlds apart. With its' quiet, tranquil setting it is a perfect getaway for boating, hiking or biking.

Bowen Island
Bowen Island is an entrancing, forested retreat and small-town community located only 15 minutes by B.C. Ferries from West Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay. Bowen Island offers some of the most beautiful hiking trails found anywhere in B.C. The many lakes, beaches and unspoiled crown lands offer residents and visitors serenity found in few places in the world. Over 4,000 full time residents call Bowen home plus another 1,500 who summer on the island. Bowen's full amenities include restaurants, schools, groceries, gift and art stores, gas station, book store, library, marinas, building centre, pubs and garden centre.
