Whistler/Squamish/Pemberton
Legendary Whistler, regarded as one of the top four-season resorts in North America. Whistler is a 2-hour drive along the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver. Squamish is located at the north end of Howe Sound, about an hour north of Vancouver and about an hour south of the mountain resort community of Whistler. It sits at the mouth of the Squamish River and is surrounded by the dramatic, glaciated peaks of the Coast Mountains. It is a picture-postcard setting. Squamish claims to be the "Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada," and the list of outdoor activities offered here is indeed long. Pemberton is located in the fertile Pemberton Valley, just a 30-minute drive north of legendary Whistler/Blackcomb. While farming is a mainstay of this community, the area is fast becoming an outdoor recreation haven, thanks to its close proximity to Whistler/Blackcomb and its own spectacular natural backdrop of soaring mountains, rushing rivers and fresh, sparkling lakes.
