The Sunshine Coast
The Sechelt Peninsula is located just two hours by car and ferry from downtown Vancouver. The Sunshine Coast is known as a recreational paradise. The Sunshine Coast stretches 180-km (112 miles) along the Northeast shore of the Strait of Georgia, from Howe Sound north to Desolation Sound.
The waters of the Sunshine Coast are world renowned for the great diving. The seascapes rival the tropics for colour and variety. Other highlights include the lush forests of the Sechelt Peninsula, Gibsons where the TV series The Beachcombers was filmed, the local artists and craftspeople, the spectacular boating and the Skookumchuck Rapids.
